Devlog2 - Next Levels, Visual Optimizations
I paced back and forth in front of my computer, trying to come up with a great opening line. Well, I just couldn’t, so without further ado, here’s my development progress over the past two weeks.
Frostpeak Mountain
Frostpeak Mountain is the first area where you encounter an ability gate. After gaining certain abilities, you can explore its later sections.
Caution! slippery floor.
Some even more dangerous enemy.
Use new skills.
Visual Optimize
Initially, the snowflakes in Frostpeak Mountain followed the camera, which looked odd. I optimized this so they act like a normal background.
Camera shake significantly increases the game’s sense of impact. At first, I didn’t want to use it because I thought it would affect precise control.
Well, it’s just a game—slight input deviations won’t cause a failed surgery or a spaceship docking error. The improved effect is worth it.
(If you don’t like it, you can disable it at any time.)
The pixel art style works perfectly with a CRT display effect, so it’s now an optional feature.
Upcoming Demo Update
There are some early-flow optimizations worth sharing.
However, it still needs a few days of testing and polishing. Stay tuned.**
